Over 20 years ago, I had an important realization – that the Church was God’s big idea, His ultimate passion, His eternal purpose. As I started to learn more about this, I began to recognize that most churches weren’t very healthy (according to the purpose and function laid out in the New Testament) because they’ve never been taught what’s healthy and unhealthy.
When we know what’s healthy and unhealthy for our physical bodies, we then have the knowledge we need to make better choices about how to care for them. If you think eating ice cream every day is healthy, you are misinformed and there are consequences. It also makes you less effective to carry out the purposes your body was built for. The same goes for any church.
I vowed that I would dedicate my life to helping people understand what it means to live in healthy church life. Since then, I’ve been focused on being a catalyst of healthy church life in my own church context in the Canton, Ohio area, as well as providing resources for others to do the same. I’ve researched, wrestled, experimented, succeeded and failed. I’m passing my insights on to help you build godly relationships and a healthier church experience wherever you’re at. I promise that you’ll gain practical wisdom for life together in Christian community.
